“‘£46,500 EACH… HOW DID THEY SEE THAT?!’” Four finalists reached the end of The 1% Club with a staggering £93,000 jackpot on the line. Then a baffling final puzzle appeared on the screen — a seemingly meaningless mix of letters and numbers that left contestants completely stunned. With only 30 seconds to work it out, panic quickly set in. Two finalists stared at the puzzle without ever figuring out what they were even looking for. The other two somehow spotted a hidden pattern that almost nobody else could see. Moments later, the studio erupted. Two players walked away with an incredible £46,500 each. The others left empty-handed. The most astonishing part? The clue that unlocked the entire puzzle had been sitting in plain sight all along — yet countless viewers admitted they never would have spotted it, even with hours to think.

The final question in the game is regarded to be so tough that on average only 1% of the UK population would get it right.

However, some viewers were left baffled by Saturday’s hidden code question.

On the episode, just four players managed to make it to the floor for the chance to answer the final question and walk away with a stake in the major jackpot.

The final 1% question was: “Peter has recently found his old diary that he’d written in secret code but he can’t remember how to decipher what he wrote.

WA92 21 B8 A 5L1RI72.” (shown here in bold)

Unfortunately two failed to answer, while two managed to get it right, meaning they both left the show with a whopping £46,500.

Lee Mack revealed that the answer was: When I grow up I want to be a florist.

The answer was revealed that where he could, Peter replaced a letter with a digit that starts with that letter.

The two young women, Maisy and Jasmine were overcome with joy at cracking the code!

Meanwhile, in another recent episode, the contestants faced a baffling animal-related question: “Without reordering any letters, how many animals appear in the sequence below?”

Later, Lee revealed the answer was six animals – pheasant, sealion, ant, seal, tortoise, and lion but fans weren’t as sure.

One viewer said: “#The1PercentClub An ant is NOT an animal! Outrage!”

Another added: “Pheasant is a bird, ant is an insect, seal and sealion are mammals, so the correct answer should be 2 (lion and tortoise).

“If the question was ‘how many creatures…’ then it’s 6. Bad question wording #The1PercentClub”

Another wrote: “#The1PercentClub An ant is an insect not an animal!”,

“Ant is an insect.. #The1PercentClub…” agreed another.

But other viewers disagreed and said: “The amount of people on the hashtag saying an ant isn’t an animal… #The1PercentClub.”

“To all those saying otherwise. Yes an ant is an animal. All insects are. #The1PercentClub”, added another.
