Fans were quick to comment as the spin-off of the hit ITV reality show returned with 12 familiar faces

I’m A Celebrity… South Africa viewers did appear to share the same complaint as the spin-off of the hit ITV reality show returned with 12 familiar faces looking at being crowned the show’s “ultimtae legend”.
The first run of the I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here spin-off aired back in 2023 and saw Loose Women star Myleene Klass take home the crown. Now, more former campmates are hoping to follow in her footsteps as the second series got underway on Monday (April 6) night.

The celebrities, all of whom have previously taken part – or won – the main series of I’m A Celebrity, will be competing against one another to be crowned the legend, and in a new twist, fans will be able to have their say and cast their vote for the winner in a live grand final broadcast direct from London on April 24.
The opening episode, hosted by Ant and Dec, the group were split into teams, with Adam Thomas and Ashley Roberts chosen as team captains, before they competed against one another to win challenges, and avoid being sent to Savannah Scrub – a stripped-down, harsher version of the camp.
The stars were tasked with completing a jigsaw while balancing on a platform that seesaws on the edge of a cliff, 140ft above the ground, with Ashley and her chosen partner, Sir Mo Farah, almost tipping the platform as they struggle through the task.
But those tuning in were left disappointed with one element of I’m A Celebrity’s return. @melvinwpeters said: “It being pre-recorded with no live elements just doesn’t hit the same. #ImACeleb.” @eds_afterglow echoed: “This isn’t hitting the same, the live memes aren’t live memeing #imaceleb #imacelebrity.”
@FleuritoFaveees wrote: “Its a completely different vibe when its not live isn’t it #imaceleb.” @Jamietalks2000 commented: “I do miss seeing im a celeb live because it was funny when stuff would happen that shouldn’t lol #imaceleb.” @Jelz22 wrote: “This should be live like the normal series. #ImaCeleb.”

But @josh_earl3 posted: “Is it as good when it’s not live? Absolutely not. Will I still watch every episode? Absolutely yes. #ImACeleb #ImACelebrity #ImACelebritySouthAfrica,” and @NunyaBisnis9 added: “It’s a shame it’s not live, but it’ll do until IAC is back in the winter. #ImACeleb.”
