Jackiey Budden has issued a statement hitting back at her former son-in-law Jeff Brazier after he reportedly sought legal advice to prevent his son Freddy from seeing his maternal grandmother
It doesn’t look like Jeff Brazier and Jackiey Budden will resolve their issues in the near future thanks to the mother of the late Jade Good issuing a damning statement. Jackiey hit back on Monday night after it was revealed her grandchildren’s father, Jeff had launched legal action against her.
Jeff, father of Jade’s sons, has reportedly sought legal advice to prevent their son Freddy from seeing his maternal grandmother. Jackiey. The Celebrity SAS star, who was in a relationship with Jade for two years and fathered their two sons, Bobby, 21, and Freddy, 20, has had a tense relationship with Jackiey over the years.
In the past, Jackiey stated she would hold off until her grandchildren were older before she “let rip” against their father but on Monday night, the mother of Big Brother legend Jade didn’t hold back when asked about the latest feud with her former son-in-law.
“I know what this is all about,” she declared. Jackiey, who also starred on Celebrity Big Brother with her late daughter, added: “It (the situation with Jeff) doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter.
Jackiey then defiantly hit back at Jeff’s attempts to stop her seeing her youngest grandson, telling the Mail: “Do I want to see Freddy? Of course I do. I see Freddy all of the time. I will see him.”
Tragically, Jade passed away at the tender age of 27 in 2009 following a fight with cervical cancer when Bobby was five and Freddy was just four.
Jeff, who first appeared on our TV screens on Shipwrecked, is believed to have engaged legal representation ahead of an impending court date, aiming to shield Freddy from “a relationship that has been incredibly detrimental to his wellbeing”. This move is the latest development in the longstanding rift between Jeff and Jade’s mum.
It’s been suggested that following arguments with his father, Freddy frequently ended up at Jackiey’s doorstep in Bermondsey, southeast London. “Freddy will often turn up on the doorstep, sometimes very unhappy, and wanting to see his nan,” a source commented previously, adding, “He and Jeff often argue, the rows can be bad, things go really, really pear-shaped between them and that’s it, he leaves.”
Despite Jackiey’s candidness about her shortcomings – acknowledging that she may not fit the typical grandmother mold – she remains a confidante for Freddy who, the source indicates, feels more comfortable opening up to her than he does around Jeff.
Adding a twist to the family saga, Jeff and his son joined forces for the high-octane show Celebrity Race Across The World, which presented an opportunity for some father-son bonding.
Eagerly anticipating the journey ahead, Jeff shared: “D’you know what I’m most looking forward to about this trip is that I feel like I’m about to learn a lot more about my son … Fred isn’t at home loads and as a result, I don’t see loads of him, but the beauty of this trip is he’s with me.”
In the midst of family tensions, Jack Tweed, widower of Jade Goody, appealed for calm in a statement to MailOnline: “Jade would not want that. She would just want peace for everybody. That is what is important. I get on with Jeff. We’re not close mates and we don’t speak all the time but it’s all very civil and that is the main thing.”
On a positive note, Bobby Brazier, Jade’s son, took to Instagram to tell his followers about rekindling his relationship with his grandmother in 2021 after a period of estrangement. He shared joyfully: “‘I didn’t see her for ages – for way too long – but I went to see her twice recently. And honestly if there’s one woman you shouldn’t underestimate it’s my nan. Honestly, she’s like a wizard! It’s nuts.”
