Laura Kuenssberg left viewers all saying the same thing as the BBC host introduced actor Brian Cox as this week’s guest in the studio. He joined GMB presenter Susanna Reid and former US ambassador Lord Kim Darroch on the bench as they discussed the Lord Mandelson case and more.
The Scottish actor expressed his view on the Mandeslon case and said: “What I found extraordinary was asked on several occasions, and he [prime minister] did not have an answer, why did he choose Mandelson in the first place? That’s what I would have liked to know. There’s no clarity about that and that’s the bigger avoidance. He never caught onto why he chose Mandelson.”

He then said he “felt sorry” for Keir Starmer, which prompted viewers to question “what is his expertise”.
One BBC fan said: “Why does Laura Kuenssberg keep inviting back Brian Cox? What is his expertise? Some of his opinions are as disgusting as any of the people he reviles, on Kevin Spacey, for example.”
Another wrote on social media platform X: “Brian Cox was announced as an actor, we know him also as a left wing activist. More BBC misrepresentation and bias.”

“Why is Brian Cox on Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg yet again?” A third blasted.”What special knowledge or world experience does this truly tedious American actor bring to any subject? Time after time, he advises us that he can’t even finish what he wants to say as he’ll resort to swearing. A self-important clown.”

Further into the programme, the actor said it is “a hell of a job” being a prime minister, adding: “Particularly what he did in the relationship to what’s going on in Iran was absolutely correct. This is not our war and NATO should not be involved…The mess conglomerates throughout.”
But some viewers enjoyed the show, with one saying: “What a contrast between Reid and Kuenssberg, and Kim Darroch and Brian Cox talking in more measured sensible tones.”
Another said they “loved” seeing the actor on the Sunday show. Others, however, disagreed as one person penned: “Quite incredible that Brian Cox seemed to be justifying the attack at the WHCD. Seemed more bothered about why the shooter had been stripped. What a w****r.”
