WNBA Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark has weighed in on the GOAT debate, becoming the latest superstar to add her voice to the long-runningargument.
Clark, who entered the WNBA with loads of expectation on her shoulders, did well to surpass them. So she gets what LeBron James had to go through coming to the NBA even younger, also without having played in college.
The fact that he’s still playing at a high level at age 40 has also impressed Clark. And she casually branded him “The greatest basketball player of all time” while speaking to host Dave Letterman on the latter’s Netflix show, ‘My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.’
Clark was asked whether she had anyone to compare herself to in terms of the expectations she had coming into the WNBA. She didn’t get drawn into comparing herself to another player but used LeBron as an example, hailing him the GOAT as she pointed to his lack of college experience and the manner in which he shouldered the burden of expectation.
“He’s still one of the best players, if not the best player in the world … It’s incredible what he’s done for the game of basketball and the way he’s carried himself,” she said. “I’ve always been a fan of him.”

“My GOAT discussing my other GOAT,” one said. “Love to see it.’
“You see, I’ve always knew I’ve been a fan of CC,” another wrote.
“As matter of factly as she says it, is how it’s supposed to be said,” one user declared. “Because that’s how matter of fact it is.”
“She is too young to have watched MJ. LJ is probably the best in her lifetime still playing,” someone else pointed out.
“Already the most hated WNBA player and she knows she’ll get even more hate with this and she doesn’t care. I love it,” said a fifth.
Of course, this is likely to stir up further debate. But at least we know who Caitlin thinks is the greatest ever.
