Kelvin Fletcher and Wife Liz Announce Exciting New TV Role After Fletchers’ Family Farm Success

Former Emmerdale star and Strictly Come Dancing champion Kelvin Fletcher, along with his wife Liz, have landed a new TV presenting role following the success of their hit series Fletchers’ Family Farm.

Once again, ITV cameras will be stepping behind the scenes of their farming life, bringing viewers an exclusive glimpse into their journey. After the show’s success in 2023, the couple is now set to share their countryside adventures with audiences of ITV’s Lorraine.

Speaking to Lorraine Kelly on Thursday, January 16, after dropping their kids off at school, Liz shared her excitement: “Over the next few weeks and months, we’ll be giving you and the viewers an exclusive insight into our life on the farm. It’s going to be an exciting time, and we can’t wait to share it with you all.”

Lorraine described the couple as ‘“living the dream” with their life on the farm, to which Kelvin replied: “I didn’t feel like I was living the dream this morning, when no one would do what they were told, that’s the children, not the animals, the animals are normally the best behaved really.”

The couple then showed the cameras two of their cows, one of which is “obsessed” with Kelvin and knocks Liz out of the way if she gets too close to him. The pair talked about how much their four children are adapting to farm life, with Liz noting: “The kids are all at different ages so Marnie and Milo are definitely a help, the twins are an absolute liability.”

“I think the best thing about having the kids for me is their understanding of the responsibility you have with a farm and the privilege it is. Understanding where our food comes from the hard work, the ups and downs,” added Kelvin.

Kelvin also spoke to Lorraine about how life has changed for the family. The actor, who played Andy Sugden on Emmerdale from 1996 until 2016 scored a huge success when he won Strictly Come Dancing in 2019 and he was receiving offers from Hollywood, but everything changed when the Covid pandemic happened and the family opted for a farm in Cheshire rather than a life in Beverly Hills.

Lorraine asked him: “So you’ve gone from Hollywood to being a farmer, you couldn’t make it up could you?” and Kelvin replied: “Hollywood to Cheshire, I didn’t quite plan for that, it’s funny how things turn out and with our family now, it’s a life that we never envisaged but it’s a life we can’t imagine not being like that.”

Their farm, a 120 acre holding on the edge of the Peak District, boasts more than 100 sheep, 30 pigs, 10 horses, chickens, a cat and a dog, as well as Kelvin, Liz and their four children. In a Good Morning Britain interview in 2023, Kelvin described setting up the farm as “a bit overwhelming.”

“It’s been a little overwhelming at times if I’m honest, but that’s the beauty of this adventure,” he said. “It’s a new chapter for us and there’s nothing relatable or transferable from my time in Emmerdale unfortunately! I always tell myself Rome wasn’t built in a day.”
