Mark Wright blindsided and ‘devastated’ after jaw-dropping remark about Michelle Keegan’s baby decision — has she made the move without him knowing?

New dad Mark Wright left gutted after missing long-awaited work gig – throws cheeky jab at wife Michelle Keegan in the process!

Mark Wright was left feeling slightly sorry for himself as he missed out on a work opportunity he’d waited for as he quipped that his wife Michelle Keegan had ‘decided to have a baby’.

The couple are still in the early days of being first-time parents having welcomed their first child into the world, a baby girl, earlier in March.

Michelle, 37, and Mark, 38, announced the arrival of their sweet baby girl, who they confirmed they’d named Palma, on March 12.

The actress and the presenter, who will celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary in May, confirmed they had welcomed their daughter on March 6, as they announced the special news alongside a first photo and the bundle of joy’s unique name.

Alongside a black and white photo of them holding their newborn’s tiny hand on Instagram, Michelle and Mark told their millions of followers: “Together we have a new love to share … Our little girl. Palma Elizabeth Wright… 06.03.25.”

Mark later returned to his new Heart Radio show with pal and singer Olly Murs where the pair got emotional about both becoming dads for the first time in the past year.

But it was over the weekend that Mark revealed that he’s missed out on a long-awaited career opportunity due to the arrival of his newborn daughter Palma.

The former TOWIE star confirmed that his daughter’s arrival meant he wasn’t able to interview Robert De Niro in person recently as the actor visited the Heart studio with Debra Messing for an interview whilst promoting their new film the Alto Knights.

The interview – released on Saturday (March 22) but thought to have been recorded prior for Heart’s Saturday Breakfast show – saw Olly was in the studio to speak to the two guests, Mark instead appeared through a video call displayed on a screen.

Olly told Robert and Debra that Mark was “devastated” to not be there in person. He said: “Behind my left shoulder you can see [Mark]. Unfortunately, he can’t make it today to talk to you guys. He’s absolutely devastated.”

Mark commented: “I was supposed to be there. The one time …” He went on to explain: “Robert, when I lived in LA I interviewed nearly everybody in your field and the one person I never got to do, who I wanted to do, was yourself!”

He then shared: “So when it came up that you were coming in to Heart, I was like ‘yes’. And then my wife decided to have a baby. And it means I can’t be in the studio.” Mark appeared to add: “Literally a couple of days ago.”

Both Robert and Debra congratulated Mark on his baby news and asked about the newborn, Mark confirmed she’s “a little girl called Palma,” to which Debra said it was “beautiful,” and Robert addded: “Ah that’s nice. Nice name.”

It came as Michelle also shared a sweet update on their little girl on social media. She posted a close-up shot of her baby girl’s tiny foot on her Instagram Stories, captioning the sweet snap on Saturday (March 22) with: “Simply magic,” alongside a twinkling star emoji.
