When Meghan Markle took to Instagram this week to celebrate ‘one more sleep’ until the launch of her lifestyle range, fans were quick to dissect every aspect of the video. In the clip, Meghan is first seen stirring two pots simultaneously, smiling and doing a little dance while dressed down in a white sweatshirt and jeans.

She is then filmed leaning over a table as she checks the packaging for one of the As Ever products, with other items from the brand — including her raspberry jam, honey and herbal teas — also visible. “From the start to the finish. What an adventure it’s been,” she captioned the reel. “One more sleep!” The ‘As Ever’ lifestyle collection also includes flower sprinkles, shortbread cookie mix, and a crepe mix, all designed to bring a taste of her Montecito lifestyle to consumers.

And now her followers think she has dropped a big hint about her next project. They spotted a seemingly innocuous planter in the background of the clip – and it has led to speculation that Meghan may also be branching out into homeware, with one social media user writing: “Could she be teasing us with this little sneak peek of home decor to come?”

It comes after Meghan again took to Instagram to celebrate the news that her current lifestyle products sold out – just minutes after going on sale. Products including the luxury raspberry spread, which sells for around £10, and the flower sprinkles, which are £15, were snapped up within 30 minutes. The herbal teas, which also retail for £10 also sold out as did the £21 wildflower honey.

Meghan revealed her products were available to buy with a post on her Instagram saying: “We’re live! Come shop the As ever collection I’ve poured so much love into. So excited to share this with you.” But she cautioned: “Limited quantities for each seasonal drop.”

She later posted: “Our shelves may be empty, but my heart is full! We sold out in less than one hour and I can’t thank you enough…for celebrating, purchasing, sharing, and believing. It’s just the start @aseverofficial. Here we go!”

However, theories behind Meghan’s ‘sold out’ product line for her brand, As Ever, are now circulating on social media. One person wrote: “Meghan released limited quantities & then acted proud that it was sold out. Small businesses do this to gauge interest in their brand & adjust in the future. There wasn’t much faith in her brand, her stock was so small at launch, in the 100s only or less!”

Another said: “This is a classic bait tactic when a new product/line is released. They only have a very limited number of products so they sell out quickly due to low volume. Don’t be fooled people.” And a third said: “Limited stock, limited availability = giving the appearance that she is more popular than she actually is.” But others have been quick to celebrate with Meghan – and beg for more: “We need restock ASAP!”

It’s been an interesting week for the Sussexes. While Meghan has pushed ahead with the launch, it has been marred by ongoing row over Sentebale – the charity Harry set up almost 20 years ago but has now dramatically quit amid an explosive showdown with the organisation’s chair Dr Sophie Chandauka.

Most recently, Dr Chandauka has claimed that after an awkward moment between her and Meghan was captured on camera at a Sentebale polo match, she was asked to issue a statement by Harry’s team defending the duchess. She said she refused the request saying “we cannot become an extension of the Sussex machine”.

And now it has been reported that after Dr Chandauka’s refusal, Harry allegedly sent her a direct message telling her to “explain herself”. Sources told The Telegraph that the message was “unpleasant in tone” and used “imperious” language leaving the charity chair “taken aback”. The publication reports that this dispute is believed to have contributed to the bitter row that has engulfed the charity.
