Shocked American Idol fans are reacting strongly after Kyndal Inskeep and Lucas Leon were eliminated following the latest Disney Night episode, where the Top 7 were officially revealed.
Disney Night in Season 24 saw the Top 9 contestants take the stage with classic Disney songs under the mentorship of former Idol winner and guest judge Jennifer Hudson. Throughout the night, judges Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie offered feedback and praise, but the final decision was made solely by viewer votes.

Despite several standout moments and what fans called “redemption performances” from multiple contestants, the episode ended in a double elimination. Lucas Leon and Kyndal Inskeep were sent home, surprising many viewers who believed both had strong chances of advancing.

Kyndal, in particular, had just delivered a heartfelt performance of “Butterfly Fly Away” from Miley Cyrus’ Hannah Montana: The Movie, which judges described as a powerful comeback after struggling with vocal issues the previous week. Lionel Richie praised her for stepping into her “light,” while Carrie Underwood called the moment a “beautiful redemption.” Jennifer Hudson also supported the performance with emotional praise, adding another one of her signature celebratory reactions in the form of a playful shoe toss.

Lucas Leon also earned positive feedback for his energetic performance of “Life Is a Highway” from Cars, with judges commending his stage presence and confidence.
However, the eliminations quickly sparked backlash online, with many fans expressing shock and disappointment over the results. Kyndal Inskeep posted a message encouraging fans to continue voting, writing, “A dream is a wish your heart makes and my heart is wishing you’d KEEP VOTING on ALL VOTING PLATFORMS ,” along with voting instructions across social media, the official website, and text voting.
Following the results, social media was flooded with emotional reactions from fans and supporters. Many praised Kyndal’s journey and vocal ability, calling her elimination unfair and urging her to continue her music career. Others expressed frustration over the voting process and timing, claiming it may have impacted results.

Despite the outcome, supporters emphasized that both Kyndal and Lucas had strong performances and bright futures ahead, with many predicting their careers will continue beyond the show.
With the Top 7 now officially set, American Idol Season 24 moves forward into its next phase as the competition intensifies.
