Emmerdale has teased what lies ahead for six male characters this summer as secrets are set to come to the surface. In spoilers for the coming weeks, the ITV soap’s boss has hinted at relationships being put to the test in one of the show’s “most explosive summers”.
Six Emmerdale characters will be taking centre stage in the soap’s upcoming stories as Kev Townsend, Lewis Barton, Mack Boyd, Robert Sugden, Ross Barton and Billy Fletcher are involved in some dramatic developments.
Still reeling from Charity’s betrayal and the discovery that Ross is Leyla’s biological father, Mack is struggling to suppress his anger. As the conflict with Ross comes to a head, the two friends confront each other in a brawl that leaves one life hanging in the balance.
Elsewhere, the wedding day of Dawn Fletcher and Joe Tate is fast approaching, but she continues being jealous of her ex Billy dating Gabby Thomas. As Joe starts thinking that Gabby has a point when she insists that Dawn isn’t over Billy, Emmerdale gears up for some nuptials to remember.
As for father-son duo, Kev and Lewis, the tentative relationship between them is immediately tested when the café is ransacked. Lewis thinks Kev has something to do with it and is determined to find out the truth. Meanwhile, Kev is outraged by the accusation and tries to plead his case with his son, but will they be able to go back from this?
Finally, Robert is rattled when Kev remembers where he’s met newcomer Serena Sugden before. As all clues point to Serena having an agenda following her surprise arrival to the village, an accident has Aaron and Chas put two and two together.
When Robert is struck unconscious by a runaway farm trailer, Aaron is convinced Serena is involved as she just happens to be at the scene. Chas agrees to help Aaron to dig up dirt on Serena, with a secret on her stolen phone threatening to expose her.
Robert ultimately corners Serena with proof that she is lying, but how will she get out of this sticky situation?
Emmerdale producer Sophie Roper teased loyalties will be questioned in the new storylines for the summer.
“From long-held secrets coming to light to fractured relationships pushed to the limit, expect a summer season of high stakes, revenge, and betrayal that will leave viewers questioning who they can trust,” Roper said. “It’s set to be one of our most explosive summers with so much more to come…”
