Just a year after bravely recovering from brain tumour surgery, beloved TV presenter Davina McCall, 58, has revealed sheâs facing yet another health battle â breast cancer. In an emotional video shared on Instagram, Davina opened up about her diagnosis, treatment, and the life lesson she hopes will help others.
âI found a lump a few weeks ago, and at first it came and went,â she explained. âBut then I saw it in the mirror one morning and thought, âI need to get this checked.â The biopsy confirmed it â breast cancer. I had a lumpectomy nearly three weeks ago, and the margins are clear. It was incredibly small, so I got it very early â Iâm very, very lucky.â
Davina shared that her lymph nodes are clear and she will now undergo a short course of radiotherapy in January âas kind of an insurance policy,â before embarking on her journey to prevent the cancer from returning.
âItâs been a lot,â she admitted. âI was very angry when I found out. But Iâve let go of that and feel in a much more positive place now. My message is simple: get checked if youâre worried. Check yourself regularly. Donât postpone mammograms or ultrasounds â early detection saves lives.â
Davina also thanked her family, her âbrilliant kids,â and fiancĂ© Michael for their unwavering support, as well as the team at the Royal Marsden Hospital for their care.
Fans and fellow celebrities have flooded her with messages of love and solidarity. Amanda Holden sent her âso much love,â Chloe Madeley called her âamazing,â and Alesha Dixon praised her as âa brave warrior.â Even Julia Bradbury, a fellow breast cancer survivor, shared her support, sending âthe biggest hugs.â
Through her courage and honesty, Davina is turning her own fear into a message of empowerment â reminding everyone to listen to their bodies, act quickly, and cherish every moment.
