Coronation Street has hinted at Carl Webster’s possible downfall again, as Sally Metcalfe sees him manipulating Debbie. Slippery Carl tries to brush off Sally’s suspicions, but will she let it go?
Following the revelation that Debbie was his biological mum, Carl has been shameless in his pursuit of reparations. After letting Debbie take the fall for his drunk driving, Carl wasted no time visiting her in prison to ask for money.
Tomorrow night, Carl makes another trip to see incarcerated Debbie in a bid to extort more cash. In the newly released spoiler clip, he feigns interest in her wellbeing as she tells him about life behind bars.
“And you know me. I like to make the best of things,” she reassures him.
However, Carl quickly makes himself the victim, claiming he doesn’t know her very well as she lied about being his sister. After making her feel guilty, he snatches the opportunity to ask for more money, saying he’s “desperate”.
Unbeknownst to the pair, Sally is listening in to their conversation while taking the Michaelis children to visit their mum Lou. When Debbie agrees to set up a monthly direct debit, concerned Sally interrupts them – much to Carl’s annoyance.
