David Barraclough appeared in the dock at Leeds Magistrates’ Court after being charged with the murder of his wife
A man accused of murdering his wife in Wakefield has made his first appearance in court.
David Barraclough, 45, of Ken Churchill Drive, appeared at Leeds Magistrates’ Court on Monday morning accused of murdering Carolann Barraclough. Mr Barraclough, who wore a light-grey tracksuit, spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address, and was remanded into custody.
The District Judge told him: “David Barraclough you are remanded into custody due to the nature and seriousness of the offence and will appear at Leeds Crown Court tomorrow, March 10.” Carolann’s body was found at a property in Ken Churchill Drive, on Thursday, March 5, as officers responded to a concern for safety.
