Coronation Street will reveal a horrifying outcome in the latest development in the issue-based storyline involving Todd Grimshaw and Theo Silverton, which has seen the latter abuse his husband.
After months of coercive control, Theo has resorted to violence recently, though several Weatherfield residents have become suspicious and attempted to help Todd. Feeling the pressure, Theo has tried to relocate to Belfast with his husband.
After he issued an ominous warning to the concerned Sarah Platt, Theo took an even more sinister route during Sunday’s (12 April) episode of the ITV soap as he held Todd prisoner in his own room ahead of their move.
Today’s follow-up will begin with Todd remaining trapped in the room, with Theo explaining that he cannot let him out for the fear that his husband will leave him. He will spiral out of control, and flick between praising and admonishing Todd.
Sarah, Summer Spellman and George Shuttleworth all attempt to visit Todd, though Theo lies and says that they have already left for Belfast. Todd pleads with Theo to let him out, and says he will back up his story.
Todd calls Sarah and keeps up the lie, and reassures a tearful Theo. He says that they are a “team” and will work through their issues, and suggests that they catch a ferry to Belfast later in the day.
Summer, meanwhile, has her suspicions about Theo confirmed, with Carl Webster telling her that Theo was responsible for the death of Billy Mayhew. He offers to track Theo down, but only if she pays him £10,000.
Back at the flat, Theo is all smiles and heads for a shower, with Todd sensing an opportunity to make a run for it. He can’t find the keys, with Theo emerging from the bathroom before he can escape.
Theo loses his temper, and it later becomes evident that he has heavily beaten his husband. A bloodied Todd makes his way to Sarah’s flat, and wearily asks if he can be taken to the police station ahead of Wednesday’s (15 April) special episode.
